Palliative Care Physician Opportunity, INTEGRIS Health in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma


About the Opportunity

INTEGRIS Health in Oklahoma City is looking for a board certified or board eligible palliative medicine (HPM) physician to join our growing program.  


We are expanding our supportive care services to include a robust system palliative medicine program to care for patients with chronic disease to improve their overall care experience and convenience. Our goal is to also improve the outcomes and reduce admissions to an inpatient setting and to more appropriately care for patients in the community. 


Reporting to the INTEGRIS Palliative Care Program Director, this position will be responsible for provision of palliative care consultations within INTEGRIS hospitals and clinics as well as supervisory responsibilities for the APRNs dedicated to the palliative care team. There is opportunity for telemedicine consultations as well. Interest in hospice services is also preferred.


Duties will include consulting with attending physician and the interdisciplinary team to establish a written plan of care and facilitate access to appropriate supportive care services. In addition, the physician will participate weekly in the interdisciplinary team meetings to review active cases and documentation to support professional billing for services. The physician will rotate call coverage with the palliative care team and hospice team.

Position Summary:

The Physician provides direct patient care. Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact this position requires.

Essential Functions:

The Physician responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

* Thoroughly evaluates and manages each patient appropriately and documents information completely by use of written notes or dictation on a timely basis

* Identifies relevant medical issues accurately and uses appropriate procedures and testing

* Completes and maintains problem list, medication list, disease management forms, preventative maintenance flow sheets and other medical record forms

* Participates in the quality improvement and medical management plans as directed by the Medical Operating Committee

* Provides direction to staff members for an efficient and smooth running team

* Ensures fiscal viability of the practice

* Complies with policies and procedures if applicable.


The Physician is responsible for patients.
