Pharmacoeconomic Specialist

Position Summary:

The Clinical Pharmacoeconomic Specialist provides advanced clinical interpretation of pharmacoeconomic and clinical outcomes data pertinent to the assigned scope of practice. Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact this position requires.

Essential Functions:

The Clinical Pharmacoeconomic Specialist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

* Identifies drug use issues with drug budget consequences or requiring policy development for the system

* Provides clinical and economic input for drug spend management strategy solutions

* Collaborates regularly with system pharmacy leadership

* Collects, analyzes, reports and presents pharmacoeconomic, financial and clinical outcomes data

* Identifies evidence-based literature supportive of robust clinical and financial decision-making

* Interfaces with and serves as resource for care transformation teams and other organizational bodies requiring integrated clinical and pharmacoeconomic perspective guiding optimal medication use

* Monitors critical metrics and informs leadership of opportunities and potential risks

* Tracks and reports outcomes of medication use initiatives

* Uses and develops analytical processes and leverages tools to produce reports and forecasts with maximum accuracy

* Coordinates the concurrent drug use evaluation program involving patient care pharmacists

* Contributes regularly to interdisciplinary communications regarding medication use

* Provides interdisciplinary educational programs

* Precepts pharmacy residents as part of practice management learning experiences

Reports to Vice President Pharmaceutical Care Services

Required Physical Demands (Subject to Reasonable Accommodation):

Keyboarding/Dexterity: Frequently; activity exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time
Standing/Walking: Frequently; activity exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time
Strength (Lift/Carry/Push/Pull): Light (Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, or up to 10 pounds of force frequently)

Qualifications:


* Graduation from a program in Pharmacy from an accredited school of pharmacy

* Current Oklahoma Pharmacy license

* Advanced degree in pharmacy and/or specialized residency or fellowship training

* Training and demonstrable high proficiency in pharmacoeconomics, analytics, forecasting, statistics, literature retrieval and data analysis

* 15 hours of approved continued education annually and the presence of an active license will be deemed proof of such training

* Must be able to communicate effectively in English

* Must possess highly developed communication and presentation skills
