INTEGRIS is seeking an energetic, eager to expand and learn, and very capable bookkeeper/accountant to be an accounting assistant with the System Financial Reporting & Accounting team.   

Experience in healthcare and/or with the reconciliation of depository accounts and posted payments is highly desirable.  We need great excel skills, eagerness to dig-in to find often difficult to find answers as well as a willingness to be open to try new process and procedures. 

 

Position Summary:

The Accounting Assistant prepares journal entries and provides support to other accounting professionals through preparation of supporting schedules, account reconciliations and analyses.

Essential Functions:

The Accounting Assistant responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

* Prepares journal entries with supporting documentation

* Manages data entry (keying, editing and posting into the general ledger or sub-ledger)

* Verifies the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records

* Updates and maintains accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions (e.g., disbursements, expense vouchers, receipts, accounts payable); enters data into computer system

* Reconciles records with internal company employees and management, or external vendors or customers

* Recommends actions to resolve discrepancies

* Investigates questionable data

* Completes spreadsheets and reconciliations of accounts and transactions including but not limited to: bank accounts, accounts receivable and accounts payable

* Performs special projects as assigned by management staff

FOR PROCURMENT CENTER:

* Manages system wide vendor database files to include adds, deletions and other changes, in accordance with OTC and IRS Regulations

* Provides back up support on sales and use tax filing reports

* Assists on Medicare sales tax recovery

* Runs daily positive pay process

* Prepares and completes checks deposits

* Completes check voids

* Maintains stale dated checks

For NZTI:

* Compiles reports and evaluations of scheduling data, physician RVU data, productivity data, financial report reviews, clinic, program and physician financial performance

* Follows UNOS and CMS guidelines

* Assists in budgeting and financial variance reporting

* Prepares and reconciles invoices for AP, foundation, and other areas

* Assists in month end reporting of transplant data and month end review of patient billing information

* Assist in researching billing and coding issues and assist in collection of information for internal audits

Accountability:

The Accounting Assistant reports to the Manager of Accounting or other accounting professional.

Environmental Conditions:

Risk exposure is minimal. Must adhere to strict deadlines and work with limited resources. Must meet deadlines set by management. Walking and/or driving to campus buildings required. Performs job duties in a manner which will ensure a physical environment free of hazards to self and others.

Qualifications:


* 3 years of A/P, A/R, Business Office or related office experience

* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word

* Completion of basic business courses at an accredited university or equivalent within 2 years of role acceptance. This includes but is not limited to: Introduction to Business, Accounting 1 and English Compensation

* Must be able to communicate effectively in English (Verbal/Written)

After March 31, 2012, for all applicants:

* Associates Degree in business or related field. Bachelor's degree preferred.

*3 years previous Accounting or Business experience.

For NZTI:

* Higher level degree may suffice for experience.
